Fixing an Error 500 Message

Troubleshooting: Error 500 Message

If you tap your NFC business card, view your digital business card, or scan the QR code and see an Error 500, this is usually team-related.

Error 500 appears when an employee is not assigned to a team, or when a team is missing required assets.

Step 1: Check the Team Has Assets Assigned

  1. Log in to your Kinect Card portal.
  2. Go to Employees β†’ Teams.
  3. Make sure at least one team exists.
  4. Click Edit on the relevant team.
  5. Using the dropdown menus, confirm the team has assets selected:

    Brand
    Location
    Theme
    Custom links (Pro users only)
    Lead forms (Pro users only)

πŸ‘‰ At least one option must be selected for each available asset type.

  1. Click Save.

Step 2: Ensure the Employee Is Assigned to a Team

  1. Go to Employees.
  2. Use the search bar to find the employee linked to the card.
  3. Check the Team column:

If it’s empty, the employee is not assigned to a team.

  4. To assign the employee:

Use the checkbox in the first column to select the employee

    Click Bulk Actions

    Select Assign to Team

Choose a team that has assets assigned

    Confirm the action

Test the Card Again

Once both steps are complete:

  • Tap the NFC card or
  • Scan the QR code again

The Error 500 message should now be resolved.
