Marks & Spencer X Kinect Card
- by Richard Barrett

Marks & Spencer initially placed an order online for a Pure Metal digital NFC business card. When reviewing the order, we noticed it was placed by none other than Stuart Machin, CEO of Marks & Spencer.
Naturally, we were thrilled that our digital business cards resonated with such a respected and forward-thinking brand. After reaching out, we discovered that M&S planned to roll out Kinect Cards across their senior leadership team, specifically within the C-suite.
The M&S team needed a high-quality, memorable business card that represented their brand perfectly — and they needed it fast.
Stuart had an important event that same week, so turnaround time was crucial. Our Pure Metal NFC business card, complete with a laser-engraved finish, offered the perfect balance of luxury, innovation, and efficiency.
As a result, we were able to ship the order the next working day, meeting their deadline without compromising on quality.
Marks & Spencer wanted a brand-led digital business card that was robust, premium, and innovative.
Their chosen design featured a black base with a silver engraved M&S logo. The pure metal material created a luxurious, weighty feel, while the tap-to-share NFC functionality offered a unique, interactive way to connect.
This blend of premium aesthetics and smart technology reflected the M&S brand values of quality and innovation.
Marks & Spencer chose Kinect Card because we offer one of the best Pure Metal NFC digital business cards on the market.
Our in-house design team provided full creative support, ensuring the final result matched their brand identity perfectly.
Furthermore, our 4.8-star Trustpilot rating and proven track record for exceptional customer service gave the M&S team total confidence in choosing us as their digital business card provider.
M&S supplied their brand guidelines and assets, which our design team used to create a digital mockup aligned with their brief.
Because M&S is known for its classic and timeless style, we designed a minimalist laser-engraved logo on the front of the card. The reverse featured the employee’s name, job title, and a unique QR code — creating a sleek, professional layout.
Additionally, all other business details such as social links and addresses were stored within our digital business card software, keeping the physical design clean while maintaining full functionality.

Once the design was approved, our production team used a Fiber Laser Engraver to craft each Pure Metal NFC card. The engraving revealed the silver metallic layer beneath the black surface, producing a durable and elegant finish.
After engraving, we programmed each card into our Kinect Card software, allowing them to be assigned to specific employees, updated in real time, and tracked with analytics.
Finally, after a rigorous quality check, the cards were packaged and dispatched the next working day, meeting M&S’s tight deadline with precision.
Marks & Spencer were thrilled with the final result.
Their leadership team praised the premium quality, attention to detail, and exceptional service they received.
Most importantly, the success of the first order led to a second bulk order of 35 additional digital business cards for senior leaders across the business — a clear indicator of satisfaction and trust.
